About
The mission of Cause Blogger is to empower non-profit organizations, volunteers, and people passionate about a cause to learn how to blog. If you’ve been been blogging for awhile I offer tips and tricks to make blogging easier, attract more readers and increase the reach of your publicity efforts.
Meet Sandra Sims, author of Cause Blogger…

Sandra and Troy Sims
I first learned how to build websites in 1999 when I was working a basic office job after college. The company paid me to go to all of these training classes and maintain our department intranet.
I’ve also been involved with charitable causes for many years. I got my first real taste of fundraising with the Leukemia & Lymphoma society while training for the Anchorage Alaska Marathon. That was an amazing experience! I continued to volunteer with causes I cared about and serve on nonprofit boards.
I used my web technology skills to start a website called Step by Step Fundraising in 2003. I focused on providing website visitors practical fundraising information through free articles and email newsletters and premium content in the form of ebooks and seminars. The site became quite popular, consistently bringing in 56K unique visitors and 130K pageviews each month. In July 2010 Step by Step Fundraising and its related sites were acquired by FastTrack Fundraising.
Why I started Cause Blogger…
There are thousands of nonprofits and cause enthusiasts who want to create a blog, or improve their online marketing efforts and I knew with my experience I could help them.
I enjoy the technical and graphic design aspects of building websites and blogs, especially on WordPress. But I also know that this technical stuff can be frustrating! So I seek to make the techy stuff as easy for you as possible! It’s the quality of the blog like the writing and communicating with visitors that really matter. I’m always thinking of new content ideas and how you can implement them.
Blogging can be fun and help you reach your goals! If you’re new to blogging, check out the series called Introduction to Cause Blogging to get started. You can also search this site for additional information, or feel free to send me an email.
All the best,

Sandra Sims
