Election Night Blogging - Let Congress and President Obama know…

This is one of the most exciting election nights that I can remember.  As I write this many states have already been called for Obama including Pennsylvania, which was a key state. Political bloggers like Ben Smith of Politico are live blogging the election, just in case you are not getting enough news from the multitude of TV coverage.

But candidate advocates and political junkies are not the only ones excited about this election.  As I was watching the campaign coverage on CNN they were showing Grant Park and the big crowds supporting Obama.  In the shot were a couple of activists who were holding up not Obama signs, but signs saying Stop Global Warming.  Then when Troy and I got home from an election night party I had an email waiting from another activist group, Health Care for America Now.  Even though at 7:25 pm Central there were no news outlets brave enough to call the whole election, they were!  Check this out…

Let Congress and President Obama know that you are ready to stand up for health care. Print out our new sign, take a picture of yourself holding it, and send it to us to add to our website. Together, we can show Washington we were serious when we said we wanted health care.

Click here to print the sign and send a message

But you know what, I think no matter what candidate was to win, they still would have sent out this email.  To really get your voice heard on the issues there is no day to rest.  In fact the day of and day after an election are great days to keep your cause’s message out in the forefront.  No matter who wins any of these elections, the issues are far more important than any one candidate.
